I first met Pete Smith when I was working as a landscaper for Myron Nesland at Diversified Landscape and Nursery in Seattle. We ended up working together for years. Pete and I went on some very cool trips together including Glacier Peak and Mt. Thompson. We also hiked on Cooper Ridge with Curt Foster and Scott Foster and we climbed Kaleetan Peak with Kevin Kearnes.
I had "it's a small world" surprise when Kevin Kearns, my old college roomate from Penn State University, came for a visit to the Pacific Northwest. Kevin stopped in Bellingham before coming to Seattle and ended up meeting Pete Smith at one of Pete's friend's house. As they talked, they realized they both knew me, so both Kevin and Pete came down to Seattle and we ended up climbing Kaleetan Peak together.
As of this update, I believe Pete Smith still lives in Sedro Wooley, WA., the gateway to the North Cacades, and works as a wooden boat builder. He also is an accomplished guitar player.
