New York - Tribute to the World Trade Center
Somewhere around 1982, I went back to New York for the day, to visit the Statue of Liberty and to go up to the roof of the World Trade Center. It was a glorius day. Very cold and if I remember correctly, it was between the Christmas Holiday and New Year's Day.
After visiting the Statue of Liberty, I went up to the roof of the World Trade Center just before sunset and managed to catch one of the most amazing sunset's I have ever seen. In one shot, you can see the Statue of Liberty's torch ablaze.
In light of the recent World Trade Center destruction, it seemed fitting to place these photographs on this web site.
This was a tragedy beyond anyone's imagination. The loss of human life was magnified by the hundreds of people who knew each of the victims - thousands on the ground and many hundreds more who perished on the 4 jetliners that crashed on that fateful day - September 11th, 2001.
