My name is Sonny Behan. I have over thirty years of Product Design and Development experience, with twenty years dedicated to Implantable Medical Devices. These devices include everything from Pediatric Pacemakers to Implantable Atrial Defibrillators, and their related support equipment. I have also designed “Flexible Circuitry” for these devices, using 3 dimensional modeling to insure proper form and fit analysis. As a result of my many years of experience, I have an extensive working knowledge of FDA, HIMA, IEC, ISO and UL requirements.

I have a great deal of experience with various implantable grade plastics and metals, and their respective fabrication techniques. These techniques include: Injection Molding, Casting, Pressure and Vacuum Forming of plastics, and Stamping, Forming, Casting, Machining and Precision Metal Injection Molding for metals. To compliment this knowledge, I am also adept at using a host of Rapid Prototyping methods, including, but not limited to, Stereolithography, CNC Machining, Urethane Casting, and Pressure Forming.

Over the years, I have established friendships and extended working relationships with what I feel are the finest custom medical part fabricators in the industry. I have opted to use the Pro-Engineer software suite for all 3 dimensional modeling, analysis and product documentation. This choice was made based on Pro-Engineer’s file transfer ability, and across the board acceptance by a majority of manufacturers and fabricators.

I offer my wealth of knowledge and expertise in the Product Design and Development field to the Medical Industry on a consulting basis, specifically targeting smaller and start-up companies.
